J.W. "Jim" Dale

J.W. “Jim” Dale, 87, passed away October 16, 2023, at Northwoods Village in Mishawaka.  He was born January 25, 1936, in Canton, GA.

  He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Adams, grandparents, Henry & Lina Dale, and several siblings. 

  Surviving are 2 daughters, Sherry (Steve) Cooper, Peggy (Chris) Bachtel, 4 grandchildren, Amber Dale, Devin Bachtel, Stephanie Cooper, and Jenni Haro.

  Jim was a U.S. Army Veteren, worked for Federal Paper for 34 years, Telladine Metal Farming for 11 years, and was a member of the #1049 Teamsters Union.  He enjoyed watching NASCAR especially Jimmy Johnson and Jeff Gordon, bowling, doing yardwork, and working on cars. 

  Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home on Monday, October 23, 2023.  Funeral services will be held at 12-Noon Tuesday on at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery with Military Honors.

  Memorial contributions may be given to Cancer Resources of Elkhart County or the American Heart Association.
