Harold Allen “Al” Grubbs, 71, of Elkhart, died Friday March 19, 2021 at his residence. He was born July 2, 1949 in Dexter, Missouri to Lloyd C. and Lillie B. (Norton) Grubbs.
On March 18, 1978 in Elkhart, Indiana he married Debra K. “Deb” Packingham. She survives along with 2 children Crystal L. Grubbs, Melissa K. Vanderford both of Elkhart; 3 grandchildren Lileigh Grubbs, Gracee Brewer, Kennedee Grubbs and a great- grandchild is on the way. Additional survivors include 1 brother, Robert (Tina) Grubbs of Grafton, OH, 2 sisters Shirley (Theo) Crosno of Paducah, KY, Sue (Bob) Ames of Chicago, IL; numerous nieces and nephews and his fur baby “Buddy”. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Hershel Grubbs.
Harold worked in the RV industry in Elkhart for many years and was also employed part time as a security guard. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his grandchildren.
Funeral services for Harold will be held on Wednesday March 24, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Pastor Rick Pirtle from the Riverview General Baptist Church will preside and entombment will follow at Rice Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family for 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home. A celebration of life service for Harold will be held this summer.
