GREGORY ALAN RHINESMITH

January 15, 1955 – February 9, 2023

 ELKHART- Gregory Alan Rhinesmith, 68, of Elkhart, passed away unexpectantly Thursday, February 9, 2023, in Elkhart from various health conditions.  He was born January 15, 1955, in Wolf Lake, Indiana to Harold R. & Georgia H. (Foley) Rhinesmith.

     On September 10, 1988, in Elkhart, Indiana he married Lisa L. Culp.  She survives along with his daughter, Nicole (Jeff) Ford of Goshen, IN; 4 grandchildren, Taylor, Ariana, Reid and Lyla; 3 siblings, Gay A. (Bob) Wilson of Cadillac, MI, Gale A. Rhinesmith, Gene A. Rhinesmith both of Elkhart; 2 nieces, Madeline Stringfellow of South Bend, Georgia Rhinesmith of Tampa, FL and many other nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gary Rhinesmith.

     Gregory was a mechanical engineer at Dexter Axle for over 39 years.  He was a member of St. Joe Restoration in Jimtown, a life member of the AMA and NRA.  He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fly fishing, bicycling, skeet shooting, was an avid sportsman and a collector of many things.  He will be remembered as a loving husband, doting father and a wonderful grandpa. 

     Visitation for family and friends will be from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday February 14, 2023, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday February 15, 2023, at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service at the funeral home.

     Memorial contributions may be given to the Elkhart County Humane Society.
