Gloria Antoinette Leipzig Obituary

Gloria A. Leipzig, a lifelong resident of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at home on December 19, 2022 at the age of 101. Gloria was the daughter of Elizabeth (Dente) and Peter A. Sarantos, Sr. She married Theodore Leipzig on May 1, 1943 at St. Vincent Church in Elkhart. They were married 65 years before his death in 2009. She is also preceded in death by her brother Peter A. Sarantos, Jr. Gloria was an accountant and office manager at Berman’s Sporting Goods in downtown Elkhart for many years. She was an active member of the St. Thomas Rosary Society, the Four Arts Club, the Elks Ladies, the Frontier Club and many bridge clubs. Gloria is survived by her two children, Gloria E. Leipzig (William Buckley) of Belmont, MA and Dr. Thomas Leipzig (Debbie) of Indianapolis, four grandchildren, Elizabeth McCullough (Michael), Anne Drew (Richard), Karen Schenk (Stephen), and Thomas Buckley (Julia Winn), seven great-grandchildren, her niece Mitzi (Sarantos) Jimison, and several cousins. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 11:30am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Elkhart with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Levi Nkwocha will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Church or charity of choice. Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 700 E. Jackson Blvd, Elkhart, is entrusted with her arrangements.
