Gladys Mae Kauffman

Gladys Mae Kauffman, 98, of Bristol, died Friday July 30, 2021, at East Lake Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Elkhart.  She was born February 17, 1923, in Milford, Indiana to Benjamin and Nellie (Morris) Waldbeser.

     On March 8, 1945, in South Bend, Indiana she married Floyd A. Kauffman.  He died on May 15, 1970, in Elkhart.  Surviving is a son, John L. Kauffman of Elkhart; a grandson, Brad Kauffman of Bristol; 6 great-grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Floyd, a daughter Roberta, a granddaughter Christine and 2 brothers Fred & Alvin Waldbeser.

     Gladys graduated from Milford High School and was a member of the United Methodist Church.  She retired on July 19, 1988, from Miles (Bayer) where she worked for 27 years.

     Funeral services for Gladys will be held on Thursday August 5, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.  Friends may visit with the family for 1 hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery in Bristol.

     Memorial contributions may be given to the Elkhart County Humane Society.
