BRISTOL-Gilbert “Ray” Yoder, 88, passed away March 11, 2025, at Waterford Crossing in Goshen surrounded by family. He was born May 18, 1936, in Elkhart to Eli & Malinda (Hochestler) Yoder.
On January 24, 1959 he married Ida Yoder; she survives along with 3 children, Tammy (Al) Chupp, Greg Yoder, and Kevin (Judy Reynolds) Yoder. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren, and 11 siblings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Anthony “Tony” Yoder, and 3 siblings.
Ray was a U.S. Army Veteran, a truck driver for over 43 years and a member of Northside Baptist Church in Elkhart. Although Ray had many talents, he was not a fixer upper. Instead, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, lawncare, and watching his great-grandchildren grow up on the picture frame.
Visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2025 at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the 12-noon funeral service on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Northside Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Rice Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Carl Henry.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
