George M. “Mike” O’Neal

ELKHART-George M. “Mike” O’Neal, 80, passed away March 29, 2024, at his home in Elkhart.  He was born May 29, 1943, in Goshen to the late James Russell & Melba (Campbell) O’Neal.

  Surviving is his wife, Judy Rossi-O’Neal, 2 daughters, Dee (Tony) Szymanski, Michele (Steve) Marjason, a stepson, Michael Rossi, 7 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 step great-grandchild, and a brother.

  Mike graduated from Goshen High School, attended Goshen College and was in the U.S. Army Reserves.  He worked at Judd’s Drug store for many years and retired from Lilly’s Paper Depot after over 40 years of employment.   Mike enjoyed watching tv, reading, woodworking, and volunteering at the Elkhart County Humane Society.   He will be remembered by his wife as being a very understanding man in regard to her being an animal lover. 

  Per his wishes cremation will take place and a celebration of life gathering will be held at his home on Sunday, May 26, 2024, from 2-4 p.m.

  Memorial contributions may be given to the Elkhart County Humane Society.
