FRANK LEE SARGENT

May 9, 1931 – June 4, 2022

ELKHART- Frank Lee Sargent, 91, of Elkhart, died Saturday June 4, 2022, at his residence in Elkhart.  He was born May 9, 1931, in Elkhart, Indiana to Robert H. & Rieta (Pippinger) Sargent. On March 10, 1973, he married Dorelee Brennan. She preceded him in death on November 21, 2016.

     Frank was also preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.  Surviving are 4 children, Brenda (George) Gorsuch of Monroe, NC, Carla R. (Jim) Horn of Elkhart, IN, Robert Ray Sargent of Elkhart, IN Julie Sargent-Case of Hutchinson, Kansas; grandchildren, Tonya Gorsuch of Goshen, IN, David Gorsuch of Plymouth, IN Mike (Jenny) Gorsuch of Elkhart, IN, Stephanie (Jerry) McGrath of Jones, MI, Jake (Erika) Gorsuch of Winnsbro, SC, Travis (Jackye) Roberts of Goshen, IN, Derek (Jessie) Roberts of Elkhart, IN, Kendra (Rick) Wardlaw of South Bend, IN, Joshua Sargent of Elkhart, IN, Brenan (Evelin) Talavera of Albuquerque, NM, Estin Talavera of Hutchinson, KS, Taylor (Tanner) Claassen of Hutchinson, KS, Neil Case of Hutchinson, KS, Jenifer (Greg) Murray of Elisabeth, WV, Christina Horn of Elkhart, IN, Monica (Marc) Lambert of Elkhart, IN, Jeff (Kutrena) Horn of Goshen, IN and 38 great grandchildren.

     Frank was a US Army veteran and served in Korea from 1951 – 1953 and received 4 bronze stars as a combat medic.  Frank worked 2 jobs for most of his life to provide for his family.  He worked at Bendix in South Bend, Selmers and Jessen Manufacturing both in Elkhart and Stonewall Fireplace.

     Cremation will take place and services will be private in keeping with the wishes of the family.  Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with his care.
