Flonnie A. “Pete” Dees

January 11, 1949 – January 17, 2025

FRENCH LICK-Flonnie “Pete” Dees, 76, passed away January 17,  2025 at IU Health Bedford.  He was born January 11, 1949, in Grants Pass, OR to Herman & Jossie (Taylor) Dees.

  On September 24, 1971, he married Ruth Ann; she preceded him in death.  He was also preceded in death by his parents, 5 siblings, Alonzo Dees, Shirley Tucker, Betty King, Herman “Bill” Dees, and Donnie Dees.

  Surviving are 3 children, Connie (David) Hartman, Michael (Sandra) Dees, Peter (Beverly) Dees, 7 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Jeannie “Little Sis” Miller.

  Pete was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam War.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and will be remembered for his feisty spirit.    

  Cremation will take place, and a celebration of life service will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.  Entombment will be held immediately following the service at Prairie Street Cemetery with Military Honors. 

Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral home is entrusted with his care.
