Esther Kay Herman, 74, of Elkhart, Indiana, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Oct. 20, 2024.
Esther retired in 2018 from Ventline (now Dexter) following 36 years of dedicated service, where she worked as a timekeeper and HR assistant.
Her hobbies included baking, crocheting, crafting, shopping, and antiquing. Esther was known for her talented cake decorating, she made many of her grandchildren’s birthday cakes over the last 27 years. However, thanks to technology, she was able to follow her grandson Mark’s baseball games via the Gamechanger smart phone app which brought her a tremendous amount of joy. She was his biggest fan.
Esther was a selfless person; she would often put others’ needs before her own. She always made sure that her son’s friends had a place at the table and gifts under the Christmas tree during the holidays.

Hall, with whom she resided with as a child while her father was stationed overseas in the U.S. Military protecting our freedom during three foreign wars.
