ELMER RAY CAUDILL

January 20, 1935 – February 4, 2024 Elmer Ray Caudill, 89, of Elkhart, Indiana Passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Ray was born on January 20, 1935 to the late Alvin and Pearlie (Slone) Caudill. He married the love of his life (the skinny girl on Abner Mountain) Barbara (Johnson) on June 18, 1956. He is survived by his wife of 67 ¾ years, his daughter, Rhonda (Phillip) Hammond of Eustis, Florida, son, Anthony (Roberta Tolliver) Caudill of Elkhart, Indiana and daughter, Joni (Joe) Tusing of Elkhart, Indiana, his grandchildren Tadd (Katie) Caudill, Matthew (Laura) Hammond, Samaria (Coty) Hartman, Rebecca (Josh) Fields, Danielle (Brandan) Bishop, Alison (Justin Robinson) Tusing, Abrahm Tusing; great-grandchildren Emma, Khloe, Lahna, Ella, Knox and Hunter along with another one on the way, Also surviving are brothers, Donald (Peggy) Caudill, Joe (Jackie) Caudill and 2 sisters, Bonnie (Clinton) Blankenship, Claudetta (John) Edwards. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ralph (Kay) Caudill and baby Ronald James Caudill, sisters, Melva (Freeman) Newman, Mavis (Junior) Mounts, Helen (Lloyd) Johnson, Jewel and baby Wilma Jean Caudill and grandson, Trent Caudill. Ray served in the US Marine Corps for 4 years and remained a proud Marine until his death. He worked at many factories in Elkhart, including Continental Can. Windsor Mobile Home, Eastern Waterbed and Jessen Mfg. He attended school at Bristol Road School of Preaching in Michigan and served as the Minister to many congregations across Michigan and northern Indiana as well as at his current congregation, Willowdale Church of Christ. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 15 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 700 East Jackson Blvd, Elkhart. Funeral Services will be on Friday, February 16 at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning one hour prior at Willowdale Church of Christ, 1400 Willowdale Ave, Elkhart, Indiana.
