ELINOR L. OLINGER

August 6, 1933 – November 21, 2020

ELKHART- Elinor l. Olinger, 87, of Elkhart, went home to be with her Lord, with her loving family surrounding her, Saturday November 21, 2020.   She was born August 6, 1933 in Mishawaka, Indiana to Ernest H. and Wava E. (Caldwell) Hooley.

     On June 8, 1951 in Osceola at the Cedar Road Missionary Church she married Melvin Eugene Olinger.  He survives along with 4 children, Steven E. Olinger of Edwardsburg, MI, Gary L. (Gail) Olinger of Bristol, IN, Cheryl A. Olinger of South Bend, IN, Rebecca K. (Denie) Egert of Edwardsburg, MI; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and a sister, Sharon Columbia of Mishawaka, IN. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Donald, and John Hooley.

     Elinor was a longtime member of the Cedar Road Missionary Church in Osceola.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, flowers especially pansies and hummingbirds.

Elinor was known for her apple crisp, baked beans, and corn pudding.  She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Elinor also enjoyed having the grandchildren and great grandchildren come over and spend the night with her.

     Visitation for the family will be from 1-3 p.m. Friday November 27, 2020 at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman funeral Home.  A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Officiating will be Chaplin Jason Brooks.  Masks are REQUIRED to enter the funeral home.

     Memorial contributions may be given to Heartland Hospice.
