Elijah James Ivers age 12 of Elkhart passed away on Tuesday December 26, 2023, at Memorial hospital from complications of Juvenile Huntington Disease. He was born May 26, 2011, in Elkhart, Indiana to Timothy D. Vantine and Jennifer K. Ivers.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Jennifer K., and Dustin Thomas of Elkhart; his father Timothy D. Vantine of Michigan; 4 siblings, Javonte Hensley, Issabella Thomas, Infinity Thomas, and Arielle Thomas all of Elkhart; his grandparents Linda Tolley and James Doering of Elkhart, Ronnie and Shirley Thomas of Bremen, Mitch and Lori Vantine of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by his brother Ian Vantine and his stepbrother Konnor Thomas.
At his grandparents, Linda and James, house he would love to go outside and dig for worms and rollie pollies which he always said they were his friends. He would always try to bring the bugs in with him no matter where he was at, even at school. If you couldn't find him inside the house, he would be outside digging somewhere in the yard. He always had to greet everyone with a big hug and even kiss sometimes. He never really understood stranger danger, or personal space he wanted to give everyone he seen a hug and would not leave until he got his hug or sometimes a high five. Some of the shows Elijah loved to watch was Larva (which is a ridiculous show, but it made him laugh) Blaze and the monster machine, little einstines and Frozen one and Frozen two. No matter how many times we watched the shows or movies he always wanted one of them he was not ok with watching anything new. Elijah also loves collecting everything Pikachu from his aunt maggie. He was always a big flirt when it came to the ladies... he said one of my best friends, Amanda, was his girlfriend. These are just a few of the memories that we have of Elijah... there are many more that we could go on for days. Elijah touched many hearts and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Services are to be held with a Viewing Tuesday January 2nd from 4-7pm and funeral service officiated by Pastor Kelly Sewell on Wednesday January 3rd at noon, both held at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 700 E. Jackson Blvd., Elkhart, IN.
