Elijah Scott Coryn

August 15, 2006 - August 26, 2023

Elijah Scott Coryn, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on August 26, 2023, at the age of 17. He was born on August 15, 2006, to Scott and Kara Coryn in Elkhart, IN. Elijah brought joy and laughter to the lives of those around him and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A beloved student at Northridge High School and had been a member of the Waypoint Church youth group. Elijah's unwavering faith in God was a guiding light in his life, and he leaves behind a legacy filled with love, kindness, and devotion.

Elijah was an active and outgoing young man who had a newfound love for lacrosse. He dedicated much of his time and energy to the sport, both as a player and as a source of inspiration to his teammates.

Elijah was known for his infectious sense of humor and his ability to bring laughter to any room. His funny smile could light up even the darkest of days, and his kind and compassionate nature touched the lives of many. Elijah's genuine care for others made him a beloved friend and a pillar of support for those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Elijah leaves behind his loving father, Scott Coryn, his devoted mother, Kara Coryn, and his cherished brother, Jayce Coryn. Grandmother Linda (Ron) Swinehart, Grandfather Ross (Jolene) Swinehart, Uncles Shawn Swinehart, Casey Swinehart, Aunt Keli (Pablo) Rodriguez, Cousins Diego, Leo, Vincent, Marcelino, Santiago, Juan Pablo, Lorena and Natalia.  Proceeded in death by Grandmother Mary “Kay” Swinehart.  During this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers go out to his family as they navigate this profound loss. May they find solace in the memories of Elijah's joyful spirit and find strength in the love they shared.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Elijah will take place at Crossroads Community Church on September 6, 2023 at 6pm with visitation from 4pm to 6pm. Friends, family, and those whose lives were touched by Elijah are invited to attend and pay their respects.

Elijah's departure has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of all who knew him. May his memory serve as a reminder to treasure the moments we share with our loved ones and to embrace life with the same zest and enthusiasm that he did.
