DOUGLAS RAY PONTIUS

January 17, 1964 – October 22, 2025

ELKHART- Douglas Ray Pontius, 61, of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday October 22, 2025, at his residence in Elkhart.  He was born on January 17, 1964, in Elkhart, Indiana to Robert James & Mary L. (Tucker) Pontius.

     Surviving are 3 siblings, Robin J. Wirick of Elkhart, IN, Craig J. (Elsie) Pontius of Moulton, AL, Michelle Pontius of Niles, MI; 1 niece, Angella Pitts of CO; 4 nephews, Justin Pontius of Niles, MI, Trevor Wirick of Topeka, IN, Nolan Malcom of Three Rivers, MI, Evan Gibson of Elkhart, IN and 6 great nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, A.J. Malcom.

     Doug was a member of the Osceola American Legion, Post 308 and enjoyed fishing, landscaping, and collecting guns and cookie jars.

     He was formerly employed as a customer service representative in the home improvement industry.

     Visitation for family and friends will be from Noon till 2:00 p.m. Sunday October 26, 2025, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.  The funeral service for Doug will start at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Cremation will follow at Elkhart Cremation Services.

     Memorial Contributions may be given to Heart to Heart Hospice or the National Kidney Foundation.
