Dorothy Mae Nagy

Dorothy M. Nagy, 100, passed away January 28, 2021 at her home in Elkhart.  She was born June 25, 1920 in Wabash, IN to Clarence & Grace (Porter) Misner.

    On October 31, 1936 she married John J. Nagy.  Together they were blessed with 6 children, John Nagy, Barbara Goode, Eugene Nagy, Marlene Berlin, Marilyn (Michael) Castleman and Michael (Joana) Nagy, 14 grandchildren, Christine (Ron) Veich, Brian Goode, Butch (Lisa) Berlin, Sam (Misey) Berlin, Julie (Robert) Oberhue, Angie (Monty Craven) Bails, Debbie Wiswell, Johnny (Kelly) Nagy, Theresa Nagy, Carla (Richard) Humble, Jimmy (Stephanie) Nagy, Michael (Sarah) Castleman, Pat Nagy and Alex Nagy.  Also left to cherish her memory is 22 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

  On May 1, 1980 she was preceded in death by her husband, John.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, Clarence & Grace, son, Michael, grandson, Brian, a great-grandson and 4 siblings.

  Dorothy loved to read and learn new things.  For many years she volunteered at Harvest Basket.  She enjoyed traveling the United States by train to the Navy Seabee Convention. 

  Dorothy will be remembered as a caring wife, greatest mom, wonderful grandma, most loving great and great-great-grandma that any child could ever have. 

  A private family graveside service will be held Monday, February 1, 2021 at St. Vincent Cemetery at 1 p.m.

  A private celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

  Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
