Doris E. Lavery Obituary

 

ELKHART-Doris E. Lavery, 90, passed away August 26, 2022, at her home in Elkhart.  She was born May 26, 1932, in Elkhart to Walter & Bertha (McClain) Packer.


  On August 8, 1953, in Elkhart she married Richard G. Lavery; he preceded her in death on June 9, 2021.  She was also preceded by her parents, daughter, Cheryl Raber, sister, Joyce Botts, brother, Robert Packer, and a son-in-law, Bob Armstead. 


Surviving are 3 children, Deborah Armstead, Joni Lavery, William (Michelle) Lavery, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a son-in-law, David Raber.


  Doris enjoyed camping with her family at Twin Mills, traveling and camping with Dick in Florida, Texas, Mississippi and wherever else the sun shone and most of all she liked making special memories with her family; whom she cherished. 


  There will be a gathering of family and friends from 10 a.m.-12:00 -Noon Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.


Burial will be held at a later date in Rice Cemetery.
