Donna S. Penrod 74 passed away at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born August 15, 1949 in Osceola, Arkansas to Herman G & Nancy D Becker.  On July 2nd 1992, she married Kenneth L. Penrod. He preceded her in death December 1st, 2012.  She was also preceded in her death her parents, 6 sisters and 4 brothers.

  She is survived by one sister, Mary Fortenberry of Tennessee, 5 children, Tommy G (Kathy) Norment of Elkhart IN, Charlie L (Shannon) Norment of Jamestown NC, Brian K (Lisa) Norment of Anna Maria Is FL, Timothy L (Michele) Norment of Elkhart IN, and Delana S (Alex) Pratt of Elkhart IN.  Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Brittany Ferrero, Whittany Perry, Sailor Norment, Kraig "K.C." Norment, Colin Norment, Duncan Norment, Stone Norment, Logen Norment, Tyler Norment, Aiden Norment, Dakotah Pratt and Thaddeus Pratt, 10 great-grandchildren and her domestic partner, Tom Norment.

   Donna cared for the elderly most of her adult life, taking care of them as an at home health and personal care aid, taking care of all their needs, being a friend and treating them like a family member that elderly patients so desperately need.  She also worked at Golden Living Nursing home for many years.   In 2017 she retired after 17 years as a QMA from Eastlake Assisted Living in Elkhart, IN. She continued to work part time at Beacon Elkhart Hospital in housekeeping.

  In her spare time she enjoyed reading, gardening, and cooking for her family. Spending time with the grandchildren and watching Notre Dame Football.

   Visitation will be held from 11-1 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home with a celebration of life service to begin at 1 p.m.    Inurnment to follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.
