Donna Miller Obituary

Donna Lou Miller passed away on February 23, 2021 at the age of 92. She was the daughter of Jasper N. Miller and Edith (Shemberger) Miller, born on July 31, 1928. Donna was a lifelong resident of Elkhart, but had many, many friends throughout the Midwest. She was a Golden Life Member of Motor Maids of America, where she was the oldest member with most years of membership. She received her first motorcycle, a Harley Davidson, which was given to her by her dad when she was 16. Over the years, Donna and her friends traveled thousands of miles across the United States on their motorcycles.

Donna loved having family and friends visit and she provided the gathering place for her extended family, initially years ago with her lake cottage in Michigan, and later by putting in a swimming pool at her home.  Her doors were always open to friends and family and she embraced and enjoyed her time with them.  She also loved her Boston Terriers, of which she had many over the years.  Donna considered her sister, Lorene Beaver her best friend and Donna, Lorene, and Lorene’s husband, Merle, spent many winters in Gulf Shores, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her sister and brother, Jack Miller.   She is survived by an extended family. Her sister’s children, Lorrie Dee Stork, Kathy Crain (Bill), and Mitchell Beaver (Dana) helped her greatly these past two years. Per her wishes, there will be no funeral service. Her remains will be placed next to Merle and Lorene at a private internment. Her family requests that any memorial contributions can be given to Heartland Hospice, 230 W. Catalpa Dr. Suite D, Mishawaka, IN 46545-8322, who took wonderful care of her during her last weeks. Walley Mills Zimmerman Funeral Home has been entrusted with her care.
