Donna DeShea (Borem) Ainsworth

August 8, 1946 – January 12, 2025

Donna DeShea (Borem) Ainsworth, 78, of Elkhart, passed away on January 12, 2025, peacefully after a prolonged fight with cancer. She was born on August 8, 1946, in Metropolis, Illinois to Leo Borem and Evelyn Borem of Elkhart, Indiana. She grew up working on her family farm with her brothers. Donna graduated from Elkhart Central High School in 1964. She then worked tirelessly to provide a better life for herself and her family.  First, working as a controller, in the mobile home industry at Duke/Windsor mobile homes for over 20 years; and then in 1985, she opened her own insurance agency with her daughter Tammy. She loved serving the Elkhart area as an insurance agent for over 20 years where she also was proud to be appointed the first woman as Vice President, and then President of the Elkhart County Life Underwriting Training Council.  But her most prized titles were Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Friend. On March 24, 1989, she married Gerald Ainsworth of Elkhart, Indiana. Donna was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Borem and father, Leo Borem. Three brothers, Danny, Ron and Randy Borem and her husband Gerald (Jerry) Ainsworth. She leaves to mourn, her daughter, Tammy (Adams) McIntosh of Elkhart, her stepdaughters, Terry Mitchell of Fairhope, Alabama, and Tammy Coddington of Ivins, Utah, two grandchildren, DeShea Blunier and Collin McIntosh, both of Buchanan, MI., two step grandchildren Tracy Heard of Lockport, Il, and Mathew Heard of Miami, Fl., one great-grandchild and two step great-grandchildren. Donna loved spending time with her family and friends and attending & helping out whenever she could at her church. A celebration of life gathering for family, friends and acquaintances will be held on a posted later date on FB,
in February or March. Memorials may be given in Donna's name to: Beulah Missionary Church, 57595 Old County Rd 17, Goshen, IN 46528. Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with her care.
