ELKHART- Donald Lee Hawk, 83, of Elkhart went home to meet our Lord on Wednesday March 16, 2022. He was born in Muncie, Indiana on May 9, 1938, to Inez and Harold Hawk.
On July 15, 1965, he married Janet Loney Hawk. She passed away on September 28, 1990. They had three wonderful children whom he was very proud of. Shaun & Robyn Hawk of Bradenton, FL. Their children Victoria and Nathan Hawk, Courtney, and Skylar Olsen. Andria & Steve King of Three Oaks, MI. Their children Lizzie and Abbie King. Kimberley and Bob Lichty of South Bend, IN. Their children Morgan, Sara and Wesley Miller and Emma and Grace Lichty. Great Grandchildren: Spencer and Logan Miller.
On March 7, 1998, he married Lynn Flora Hawk. They were known as Lynnie & Lee. He also was very proud of his stepchildren and all their children. Stepson: Greg & Jessie Whaley of Elkhart. Grandchildren: Heather Simmons of South Bend, IN. Great Grandchildren: Ryu & Arya Simmons. Grandchildren: Leigha Whaley of San Diego, CA and Adam Whaley of South Bend, IN. Stepdaughter: Madison Buss of Elkhart, IN. Stepdaughter: Shelby Choquette of Elkhart, IN. Great Grandchildren Nevaeh, Bradyn, Nolan & Blakely. Grandson: Will & Nicole Sullivan of South Bend, IN. Great Grandchildren Alyssa & Liliana.
Stepdaughter: Jody & Ron Fultz of Elkhart. Grandchildren: Ellyn & Josh Riegsecker. Great Grandchildren Liam, Beckham, Graham, and Tatum. Grandchildren Becca & Ryan Stork. Great Grandchildren Easton & Jenessa Stork. Grandson: Aaron Fultz. Stepson: Bill & Lynda Ramsey of Kissimmee, FL. Grandchildren: Emily & Justin Ramsey of Kissimmee, FL. Stepsons: Bob & Jim Ramsey of Elkhart, IN. Also surviving is a brother, Ron (LeeAnna) Hawk and his family and a sister, Nancy (John) Huston and her family
He was preceded in death by the following: His father Harold Hawk, his mother LaVera Inez Ladow, stepmom Nell Hawk, brothers, Phil Hawk & David Dory, and his sister Jackie Blanford.
His passion for sailboats and magnificent flower gardens was a joy to all of us. He loved his family dearly and always enjoyed time spent with all of them. He will be missed more than words can express. Donald was a US Army veteran.
Funeral services for Donald will be held at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Friday March 25 ,2022, at the Sugar Grove Church, 58512 Old County Road 17, Goshen, IN. Pastor Brett Baranic will preside, and burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery where there will be full military honors rendered. Friends may visit with the family for 2 hours prior to the start of the service at the church.
