Dixie L. Roberts

May 1, 1946 – May 22, 2024

Elkhart-   Dixie Lee Roberts, 78 passed away May 22, 2024, at her residence in Elkhart.  She was born May 1, 1946, in Goshen, IN to Francis and Norma (Fox) Roberts. In 1966, she married John I Wagner, and later divorced.  They were blessed with 3 children. She preceded in death by her parents, infant son Johnny A. Wagner, her brother Bruce A. Roberts and grandson, Jacob M. Callahan. Surviving 2 children:  Wendi S. Wagner and Stacey A. Callahan.  3 grandchildren:  Johnathan L. Callahan, Megan K. Wagner and Travis L. C. Eppert.  5 great grandchildren:  Kaiden E. Wagner, Kamille N. Wagner, Mya K. Wagner, Landon L. Callahan and Connor M. Callahan. Also surviving, her sister, Diana K. Halsey, and several nieces and nephews, ex-husband Carey Swihart and many friends.

Dixie graduated from Concord High School in 1964.  She retired from Big Brothers/Big Sisters as a Case Manager.  Dixie enjoyed watching her daughters play softball at Cleveland Little League and her great granddaughters play soccer at Concord Field.

She treasured spending time with family and friends.  She loved butterflies, as they are a symbol of rebirth.  Her favorite flower was the red rose.  While spending time with friends she enjoyed a good game of cards or sitting and having a refreshing glass of tea.  She was a very funny, loving lady.  You could always count on a good belly laugh with her around.  She could eat biscuits and gravy every day and having a cigarette after every meal.  Well, a cigarette anytime. Lol.   She loved music and could watch Dateline all day long.  Oh, she needed her caramel frappe from McDonald’s.

Cremation has been taken place and grave site service will be determined.  A celebration of life will be later.
