Dennis “Fred” W. Stroder

February 26, 1955-June 8, 2025

ELKHART-Dennis “Fred” W. Stroder, 70, passed away June 8, 2025, at his home in Elkhart.  He was born February 26, 1955, in Fort Riley, Kansas.

  On April 26, 1974 in Cassopolis, MI he married Karen Yowell; she preceded him in death.  He was also preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Sr & Velta (McGuyre) Stroder, sister, Sheila Damron, and a brother, John Stroder.

  Surviving are 2 daughters, Jessica (Shawn) Marzini, Melissa (Donald Mullins) Smith, 6 grandchildren, Kimberly (Chris Purkey) Marzini, Austin (Faith Shetler) Marzini, Paige Romano, Haley (Boyd) Butler, Destiny Marzini, Damian “Buddy” Stoner, and 12 great-grandchildren.   Also surviving is a sister, Mary Stroder, 2 brothers, Kenneth Stroder Jr., Jerry Stroder, a special cousin, Elizabeth “Liz” Kersey, and numerous other family members.

  Dennis was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, worked at Elkhart Products for over 35 years, and is a member of the International Aerospace Machinist Union.  He enjoyed bowling in leagues with his wife, gardening, being outside, and was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.     

  Visitation will be held from 10-1 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2025, with the funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.

  Burial will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery and presiding will be Pastor Rick Pirtle from Riverview General Baptist Church will preside.
