Dennis Malloy

October 17, 1946 – August 21, 2023

After over 46 years of marriage, Dennis Malloy (76) and Connie Malloy (73) unexpectedly passed away in their home on August 21, 2023, as the result of a tragic and devastating accident. Dennis and Connie lived with their two dogs, Henry and Daisy, whom they loved and cared for deeply who passed with them.

Dennis and Connie centered their life around their kids and grandchildren. They left this world full of the love their family poured onto them. They are survived by their children Michael (Beth) Malloy of Elkhart, IN, Carey (John) Malloy of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Mindi (Greg) Dugard of St. Petersburg, FL, and Michelle (Todd) Crussemeyer of Elkhart, IN. They were further survived by their grandchildren Megan, Andrew, Hadley, Madison, Mathew, Ellie, Ally, Bella, and Max. Additionally, Dennis was survived by his sister, Teri (Sal) Magana. Connie was survived by her sisters Linda House and Mary (Bob) Lee.

Dennis was born October 17, 1946, in Goshen, IN. Dennis graduated from Concord High School in 1964. Dennis selflessly served his country in the Vietnam War with the United States Marine Corps from 1966-1971. During his service he received numerous awards for his dedication, skill, and character including, the Navy Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter Badge, and Combat Action Ribbon. After his service was complete, Dennis worked at Bayer Pharmaceuticals where he worked his way up to Facilities Manager before retiring. 

Dennis was an avid hunter, golfer, tennis player, and Notre Dame Football fan. He found joy in taking his grandkids tubing on the lake and horseback riding at the family barn. Dennis was happiest when his family was all together. He was the protector, voice of reason, and place of comfort for his friends and family. He loved hard and was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. The world was a better place with Dennis in it, and he will be deeply missed. 

A visitation for Dennis and Connie will be held at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman, 700 E Jackson Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46516, on Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Immediately following the visitation, there will be a celebration of life memorial service from 4:00pm to 5:00pm. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
