Delphine I. Jedrzejek, 90, of Indian River, MI, died Thursday Feb. 4, 2021in Elkhart at the home of her daughter. She was born August 7, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to Joseph and Anna (Marek) Jakubek.
On September 16, 1950 she married the love of her life, her Polish boyfriend, Steven Jedrzejek. He preceded her in death on October 4, 2009. Surviving are 4 children, Stephen (Barbara) Jedrzejek of Raleigh, NC, Joy (Lynn) Clemens of Seeley Lake, Montana, Joseph (Linda) Jedrzejek of Carol Stream, IL, and Anne (Kevin) Wynne of Elkhart; 6 grandchildren Nate (Rebecca) Jedrzejek, Andy (MaKenzie) Wynne, Joey Clemens, Sam Wynne, Caiti Jedrzejek and Dylan (Cait) Wynne and 2 great-grandchildren with one on the way. Also surviving are many cherished nieces, nephews, wonderful friends on Mullet Lake that she considered as family and her best girlfriend Betty Herron, whom has been her friend since they were 4 years old.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Steven, 2 sisters and 1 brother.
Delphine was a retired medical assistant. She was a member of the Cross In The Woods Catholic Church in Indian River, MI, she enjoyed crocheting, reading, doing crossword puzzles, polka dancing with Steve (aka Lefty, aka HoHo), spending time with her family and being on the lake and watching the sun set. She also was an avid Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings fan.
Donations can be given to the Mullet Lake Area Preservation Society.
Cremation will take place and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date. A “Party on the Pointe” will be held in her honor.
