Slocomb, AL-Deborah L. Rice, 71, passed away May 24, 2023, in Slocomb, AL.  She was born January 3, 1952, in Charleston, WV, to the late James & Nellie (Martin) Harper. 

  She was preceded in death by her parent, a daughter, Kimmberly Rice, and a sister, Kathy Elkins.

  Surviving are 2 daughters, Jennifer Adams, Jennifer Fye, granddaughter, Jessica (Austin) Hughes, 2 great-grandchildren, Haven and Haisten.  Also surviving is a brother, Marty Harper, a niece, Lisa (Matthew) Anderson and numerous other family members.

  Deborah had a large collection of movies and enjoyed crocheting, spending time with her friends, but most of all making memories with her grandchildren.     

  Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery.

  Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
