CULVER A. HUNT

October 30, 1949 – November 28, 2024

ELKHART, IN- Culver A. Hunt, 75, of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away Thursday November 28, 2024, at his residence in Elkhart.  He was born October 30, 1949, in Peoria, IL to Theodore & Merley (Tyrrell) Hunt.

     On November 9, 2007, in Goshen, Indiana he married Terry Sue (Becker) Simmons.  She survives along with his four children, Lauren Martin of Edwards, IL, Josh (Renee) Hunt of Machiponga, VA, Noelle Hunt of Foristell, MO, Joseph Hunt of Peoria, IL; 1 granddaughter, Katie Martin, 2 twin grandsons, James & Franklin Hunt;  his stepdaughter, Hollie (Rick) Sargent of Middlebury, IN; 1 step granddaughter, Eva Sargent and 2 sisters, Joan Barrett of Brimfield, IL and Merley “Penny” Foulk of Sioux City, Iowa.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Carl Hunt and Ted Hunt and a step grandson, Conner Sargent.

     Culver served in the US Army in Vietnam and was a Purple Heart recipient.  He enjoyed watching basketball, playing cards and was a very talented carpenter and wood worker.

     Culver was formerly employed as a truck driver for Klink Trucking.   He was ASE Certified and was awarded a certificate in evidence of competence as a Master Heavy Duty Truck Technician.

     Cremation will take place, and a celebration of life service will be held on Saturday December 14, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.  Fr. Tegha Nji from Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Bristol will render the service.  After the service there will be food provided at the funeral home for family and friends.    Friends may visit with the family from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. 

     Memorial Contributions may be given to the Elkhart County Humane Society.
