Craig W. Pawling, 44, of Elkhart, died Wednesday January 19, 2022, at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born April 17, 1977, in Elkhart, Indiana to Steven Craig and Betty Sue (Holley) Pawling.
On September 12, 2014, in the Bahamas he married Connie A. (Frost) Hodges.
She survives along with 5 children, Ava Pawling of Elkhart, Ashley (Conrad) Jacobs of Carmel, IN, Brooklyn (Nick) Spirito of Elkhart, Ryan (Joey) Hodges of Edwardsburg, Jordon (Natalie) Hodges of Elkhart; 6 grandchildren, Zane, Nadine, Vivian, Juliet, River and Walter Craig. Also surviving is his father, Steven C. (Heidi) Pawling of Granger; his mother, Betty Sue (Cody) Sheridan of Summerville, SC and 3 siblings, Tracy (Christian) Swygert of Moncks Coroner, SC,
Zackery (Mallory) Pawling of Edwardsburg and Kayla (Alex) Soptich of Granger.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gerald and Gloria Pawling and Thomas and Barbara Holley.
Craig graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington with a B.S. degree in business. He attended Grace Bible Church in Elkhart and was a member of the Home Builders Association. He enjoyed golfing, reading the bible, working in his yard, listening to music, traveling, and spending time with his family. Craig was an avid Notre Dame Football fan, enjoyed corvettes and was a self-employed home builder.
A celebration of life service for Craig will be held on Friday January 28, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Omega Event Center, 2130 Middlebury Street, Elkhart, Indiana. Pastor Kyle Grant from the Grace Bible Church will preside.
Friends may visit with the family for 1 hour prior to the celebration of life service. Immediately following the service family and friends are all invited to gather in the fellowship hall at the Omega Center for food, fellowship, and refreshments.
Burial will be private on Saturday January 29, 2022, at Sugar Grove Cemetery in Goshen. Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with his care.
