Clarence L. Keith, 69, of Elkhart, In., died unexpectedly on Saturday, October 14, 2023. He was born
in Beech Grove, Indiana on November 6, 1953 to Gilbert and Christine (Wilkins) Keith, the first son
of their union. Clarence graduated from Elkhart Memorial High School in 1973 before joining the
Army and was honorably discharged in 1979. It was during this time when the moniker “Keith”
began and only his brothers and sisters referred to him as Clarence.
Clarence was preceded in death by his father, mother, his sister, Debbie, his brother, Robert, and
grandson, Soren. Clarence is survived by his wife of 44 years, Darla, and three children: Brian
(Angie) Miller of Mishawaka, In., Clarence (Amber) Miller of Edwardsburg, Mi., and Allyson (Kevin)
Hammonds of Fishers, In., and six grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters; Rita (Ben) Heath, Marie Keith, Linda Keith, and Susie (Carl) Cooper, and brothers; David Keith, and Raymond Keith.
Clarence spent the majority of his career as a truck driver, working 17 years at Yellow Freight before
retiring. Clarence was known as “Mr. Pontiac” in his younger years as he loved to work on his
beloved Pontiacs. In recent years, he spent his time connecting with others in the CB/Ham radio
community and working to bring old radios back into working condition. Clarence will be remembered for his passion for history, mechanics, and engaging in fiery debates about politics or religion.
A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date.
