Charles “Chuck” R. Stahly, age 73, passed away on Monday, December 26th, 2022, at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born August 8th, 1949, in Goshen, IN. His parents were Mildred and Donald H. Smith. Chuck attended Goshen High School and later started two businesses, S&S Siding and Next Level Construction.

  Chuck met Donna Sassaman, of Nappanee, IN and they married in January of 1971. They remained lifelong partners until his passing. Their only daughter, Kendra was born later that same year.

  Chuck was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He also made sure to take care of his family and constantly reminded them how proud he was. He spoiled his grandchildren and had a rule that they would never be in trouble at his house. He doted on them both and made sure they had anything they wanted. One could not ask for a better grandpa, or role model.  He was an extraordinarily hard worker and never retired. He was dedicated to his businesses, and this was proven in his success. Chuck was able to fix anything and be extremely handy, but his abilities went further than just manual labor. He created relationships with his clients and always went above and beyond to meet their needs.

  Chuck liked to go camping and enjoyed boating with his friends in Angola. He was passionate about animals and had many pets over the years that he cared greatly for, such as a turkey, a cockatoo, dogs, cats, skunks, chickens, ducks, and goats. Chuck also had a love for Corvettes.

  Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Donald, and his siblings, Gene, Robert, Donlyn, DeeLora, and Johnny. He is survived by his wife, Donna, his daughter, Kendra (Jeff) Minix, and his two grandchildren, Jenner and Rayna.

  The visitation and funeral will both take place on Wednesday, January 4th, 2023, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. The visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and the funeral will begin at 1:00 p.m. It will be officiated by Michaele LaVigne.
