CATHERINE ALICE WEYANT
March 14, 1918 – August 24, 2023
BRISTOL- Catherine Alice Weyant, 105, of Bristol, Indiana, passed away Thursday August 24, 2023, at the home of her daughter in Buchanan, Michigan. She was born March 14, 1918, in Dansville, New York to William Preston and Henrietta C. (Conrad) Stone.
On September 15, 1942, in Dansville, NY she married Arthur W. Weyant. He preceded her in death on September 21, 1996, in Niles, MI. Also preceding in death were her parents, 3 sisters, Elaine Stone, Henrietta Crist, Katherine Stone and 5 brothers, Tom Stone, Bill Stone, John Stone, Peter Stone, and Fred Stone. Surviving are 2 children, Carolyn (Gary) Mast of Buchanan, MI, Dennis (Debra) Weyant of Beaumont, TX; 4 grandchildren, Chris (Kylie) Weyant of Lumberton, TX, Karen Weyant of Lumberton, TX, Jason Mast of Niles, MI, Rachel (Red) Stone of Chesterton, IN; 10 great-grandchildren, Nicholas (Dixie) Corsi, Andrea Weyant, Madison (Tanner) Clark, Alexis Stone, Ronnie Stone, Elle Stone, Lily Mast, Eric Weyant, Kelly Weyant, Gavin Weyant; 4 great great grandchildren, Apollo Stone, Adonis Stone, Nicklaus Corsi and Scarlett Rae Clark. She is also survived by her many beloved nieces, nephews, church members and her hairdresser, Karlene.
Catherine graduated from high school in 1936. She worked at Bell Aircraft in Buffalo, NY during W.W.II and retired from Ventline in Bristol. Catherine was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bristol and served on the Altar Rosary Society at St. Mary’s Church. She was an avid lover of all pets and participated in the Christmas Bazaars and funeral dinners at the church. She made clothes for dolls and teddy bears that the Salvation Army gave to children at Christmas. She loved to read, bake, sew, craft, and taking long walks.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. on Friday September 1, 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bristol. The Mass of Christian Burial will start at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Church. Fr. Bob VanKeppen will render the Mass. After the Mass a luncheon will follow at the church and burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with her care. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bristol.
