Carol Lynn Tarnecy, 75, of Elkhart, died Monday September 5, 2022, at Elkhart General Hospital.  She was born October 29, 1946, in North Liberty, Indiana to Chester & Goldie (Patesel) Kaley.

     Carol married Harold G. Annis, Jr., who preceded her in death on March 26, 1994. She married Joseph A. Tarnecy on January 24, 1970, in Elkhart.  He preceded her in death on March 3, 2002, in Elkhart.  Also preceding in her in death were her parents, her daughter, Lori Bowers (Tarnecy), her son-in-law Ron Bowers, 2 sisters, Laurel Clark, Peggy Clark and her brother, Edward Kaley.  Surviving are 4 children, Joseph W. Tarnecy of Elkhart, Michael A. Tarnecy of Bunker Hill, IN, Tonya A. (John) Harwood (Annis) of Mishawaka, Tammy C. (Greg) Wyland (Annis) of Elkhart; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Luanne Root of Ft. Wayne, IN, Mary Ruth Bruegel of Granger, IN; 1 brother, Dale Kaley of South Bend, IN and numerous nieces and nephews.

     Carol was truly a people person who enjoyed crafts, playing games, collecting angels and listening to gospel music.  She was a member of The Sanctuary Church in Osceola.

     Visitation for family and friends will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday September 12, 2022, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home and from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday September 13, 2022, at the funeral home.  Funeral services will start at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday.  Pastor Jack Rorie from The Sanctuary Church in Osceola will preside, and burial will follow in Rice Cemetery.

     Memorial contributions may be given to The Sanctuary Church or to the National Kidney Foundation.
