April 5, 1974-August 15, 2020

ELKHART-Brian “Bat Dad” James McConnell, 46, passed away August 15, 2020 at the Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart. He was born April 5, 1974 in St. Joseph, MI to Thomas & Nancy (Hoyt) McConnell.

On August 18, 2018 he married Lori Rodriguez; his “sidekick” survives along with his mother, Nancy, 7 children, Christopher (Ryan), Stephen (Charlee), Colyn (Sabrina), Alex, Kayellen, Angelica and James. Also surviving is 7 grandchildren, Chase, Parker, McKinlee, Alayna, Khloe, Iza, Landon and 1 brother, Randy McConnell.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas, 1 son, Robert and both sets of grandparents.

Brian served in the U.S. Marines and was an account manager for ACTIA. He enjoyed reading, electronics, and sports. He was a Chicago Cubs, Green Bay Packers, Star Wars and Star Trek fan. To Brian God was the center of his life and his faith was very important to him. He taught his children and grandchildren unconditional love and how to be a man of God. They will forever remember the immense love he showed all of them.

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday, August 21, 2020 at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Pastor Dave Klahr will preside.
