BONNIE J. STATZER June 20, 1933 - October 11, 2018 MISHAWAKA-Bonnie J. Statzer, 85, of Mishawaka passed away Thursday October 11, 2018 AT Caretel Inns of Lakeland in St. Joseph, Michigan. She was born June 20, 1933 in Elkhart to the late Donald Frederick & Arlene Marie (Smeltzer) Raeder. She married Raymond Statzer and he preceded her in death in 1989. Surviving is a son, Randall "Randy" Statzer and his wife Sandra of Benton Harbor, Michigan. Also surviving are her brother Gary Rader of Redding CA and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Bonnie graduated in 1951 from Elkhart High School and worked at Adams & Westlake in Elkhart as a clerk. Along with her husband she owned and operated a pizzeria in Asheville NC and a KOA campground in Hemphill, TX Upon returning to the South Bend Elkhart area in the late 70's she continued as an active member of the Lutheran Church. A celebration of life service for Bonnie will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, October 19, 2018 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1021 Manchester Drive, South Bend, Indiana 46515. Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with her care.
