Billy Joe Lambka, 81, of Elkhart, died Friday August 12, 2022, at Elkhart General Hospital.  He was born June 6, 1941, in Elkhart, Indiana to Fred G. & Mildred (Smee) Lambka.

     On October 18, 1963, in Elkhart he married Janet L. Hartman.  She preceded him in death on November 21, 2016, in Wakarusa, Indiana.  Surviving are 2 children, Fred Lambka, Tammy (Keith) Bainter both of Elkhart, Indiana; 1 sister, Donna Bogart of Elkhart, Indiana; numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend Judy Strukel of Elkhart, Indiana.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Janet and 2 brothers Richie and Jim Lambka.

     Billy graduated in 1960 from Concord High School.  He was a former member of the Jimtown Conservation Club, enjoyed fishing, camping and woodworking. He was also a very avid and competitive card player.

He designed and built a large fireplace in his home made of fieldstones. Billy worked as a tool & die maker at Frederick Tool Corporation for 30 years. For a few years he and his wife ran The Rest Stop Restaurant at Pierre Moran Mall.  He then retired from Ventline in Bristol.

     Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday August 17, 2022, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday August 18, 2022, at the funeral home.  Pastor Dan Brennaman will preside, and burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.

     Memorial contributions may be given to Heart to Heart Hospice.
