Bennie Leroy "Pops" Leazenby July 13, 1942 - September 20, 2018 ELKHART- Bennie Leroy "Pops" Leazenby, 76, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday September 20, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 13, 1942 in Elkhart to Ernest Leroy and Evelyn Mae (Grandstaff) Leazenby. On April 25, 1970 in Elkhart he married Karen Marie Moses. Karen survives along with 5 children, Lori (Stephen) VanDiepenbos of Goshen, Benjamin (Cherie) Leazenby of Granger, Brian Leazenby (Sherry Burner) of Bristol, Brad Leazenby of Elkhart, Timothy Leazenby of White Cloud, MI; 6 grandchildren, Courtney, Shaylee and Rebecca VanDiepenbos, Luke, Ethan and Samantha Leazenby and his mother-in-law, Marie Moses of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Donna Mosier and Annette Kell. Ben was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church and the Elkhart Moose Lodge #599. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, softball, attending his grandchildren's sporting events and for 39 years was active in all aspects at the Cleveland Little League. Ben graduated in 1970 from Elkhart High School and retired in 2007 from Cana Inc. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the Grace Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00a.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Elkhart. Pastor Dan Forehand will preside and cremation will follow.
