BARBARA ANN SPARKS

July 8, 1949 – April 20, 2023

BENSON, AZ- Barbara Ann Sparks, 73, of Benson, AZ, passed away Thursday April 20, 2023, at Banner University Hospital in Tucson, AZ.  She was born July 8, 1949, in Marion, Indiana to Robert & Henrietta (Hooven) Magee.

     On August 25, 1976, she married James Lee Sparks.  He survives along with her 2 sons, Mike Russell & Mark (Paula Stamper) Russell both of Elkhart: 1 stepson, Scott (Sevinc) Sparks of Fenton, MI; 4 grandchildren and 4 siblings, Shawn Magee of Sioux Falls, SD, Daniel (Tina) Magee of Middlebury, IN, David Magee of Adamsville, MI and Kimberly (John) Tholen of Edwardsburg, MI.  She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Bobby Magee, and Rodney Magee.

     Barbara was formerly employed at General Motors.  She enjoyed crafting, reading, playing cards, and playing Free Cell on the computer.

     Funeral services for Barbara will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday May 2, 2023, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.  Pastor Bob Vale from the First United Methodist Church in Middlebury will render the service.  A burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery in Bristol.  Friends may visit with the family for 2 hours prior to the start of the service at the funeral home.

     Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
