Ava Denice Sanders

August 13, 1959 – February 24, 2023

Ava Denice Sanders passed away on the 24th of February 2023. She is survived by her husband Dave Sanders, her children Stephanie Lopez Guillen, Shennendoah Hoffer, Joseph Zinkan, Thomas Zinkan, and her grandchildren Shawn Silk, Sara Silk, Reese Silk, Soren Hoffer, Saria Hoffer, Astrid Zinkan, Aalyah Zinkan, Guadalupe Merckley, and Winnie Zinkan. She was married to David R. Zinkan May 7, 1983, until his death on November 17, 2010. Later she remarried Dave Sanders August 13, 2015, until her untimely death. She lived in Elkhart most of her life. During her youth she joined the army and was stationed and served in North Korea. She was a great artist and loved to paint, sculpt, and find and collect rocks. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her. Her funeral will take place at Walley- Mills- Zimmerman Funeral Home on Friday, the third of March. The viewing will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m.
