ARTHUR RAYMOND FORBES

January 28, 1970 – October 15, 2023

ELKHART- Arthur Raymond Forbes, 53, of Elkhart, was called home by Jesus on Sunday October 15, 2023.  Arthur was born January 28, 1970, in Elkhart, Indiana to David John & Betty (Kassens) Forbes.

     Arthur is survived by his mother, Betty Forbes-Wesselhoft of Union, MI; his brother, Chris Forbes of Elkhart; 5 step siblings, Charles (Marie) Wesselhoft of Tucson, AZ, Steve (Betsy) Wesselhoft of Ironwood, MI, Ron W. (Carol) Wesselhoft of Elkhart, Karen (Rob) Hillman of Jones, MI, Sue (Stephen) Studer of Mishawaka; his aunt Frona Kassens of Chicago, IL; his close friend Charlie; his furry friend Murphy and numerous cousins.  Arthur was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.

     Arthur graduated from White Pigeon High School in 1988 and attended Southwestern Michigan College.  Arthur worked for a time as an intern in 6th District Congressman Fred Upton’s office and for a time was very politically active in Cass County Michigan.  Arthur was a very caring person with a strong faith, was an avid history buff, and enjoyed going to flee markets and buying and selling items.  Arthur often helped the homeless by taking them clothing and food.

     Arthur was a former employee of Martin’s Supermarkets and Meijer in Goshen. 

     Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. Friday October 20, 2023, at the Omega Event Center, 2130 Middlebury Street, Elkhart, IN.  The funeral service will start at 2:00 p.m. at the Event Center.  Pastor Steve Lewis will render the service and cremation will follow. 

     Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with his care.  Memorial contributions may be given to The Center for Hospice Care or to any Homeless Shelter.
