ARNO HARLAN ERICKSON

August 18, 1935 – November 3, 2024

ELKHART- Arno Harlan Erickson, 89, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday November 3, 2024, at his residence in Elkhart.  He was born August 18, 1935, in Redfield, SD to Arno John & Gretchen Eloise (Serfling) Erickson.

     On November 20, 1954, he married Karen J. Powell.  She survives along with 3 children, Brenda Rumfelt, Sandra Eaton both of Elkhart, Michael (Amy Dodson) Erickson of Sturgis, MI; a special sister-in-law, Coralie Anderson, 5 grandchildren, Anthony Rumfelt, Crystal Bammerlin, Daniel (Brianna) Eaton, Tyshawna (Justin) Felix, Michael Erickson; 17 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and his furry friend Oreo.  He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 sisters.

     Arno was formerly employed at Miles Labs now (Bayer) as a painter.  He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and an avid Green Bay Packer fan.  Arno loved bowling and enjoyed gardening, riding his John Deere mower and collecting toy semi’s. 

     Cremation will take place and a celebration of life gathering will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday November 20, 2024, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.  Friends may visit with the family from 5-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

     Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of the Donor’s Choice.
