Ward L Correll

Ward L. Correll, 96, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017 at his residence. He was born September 11, 1920 in South Bend to Maynard J. Correll Sr and Olga A. (Henry) Correll. Survivors include his wife, Gladys I. Correll of Elkhart; one son, Dr. Larry (Susan) Correll of Beloit, WI; one sister, Shirley Horn of Titusville, CA; one nephew, David (Lori) Hubbard of Elkhart; 6 grandchildren, Joseph (Dawn) Correll, Jill (Steve) Peretz, Andrew Correll, Chris (Melissa) Waterman, Craig Waterman and Charles (Laura) Witte; 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and two sisters. Following graduation from Mishawaka High School, Ward served in US Army Corps of Engineers during WW II as a Master Sergeant in both the European and Pacific Theaters. He was employed for more than 43 years at the Wheelabrator Corporation in Mishawaka as a Design Engineer. Ward was a member of Adamsville Road Church of God. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Monday, March 27th at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 700 E. Jackson Blvd., Elkhart. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, March 28th at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Visitation will begin 1 hour prior to the funeral. Rev. Dennis Olsen and Dr. Larry Correll will officiate. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Memorial contributions may be made to Adamsville Road Church of God in memory of Ward.
