THOMAS JAMES HOLSINGER August 31, 1941 - October 12, 2018 Thomas James Holsinger, 77, of Elkhart, passed away Friday October 12, 2018 at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born August 31, 1941 in Mishawaka, Indiana to Frank D. & Bertie Lou (Miller) Holsinger. On May 11, 1972 in Osceola he married Nancy Eileen (Rummel) Holbert. She survives along with 5 children, Steven (Jayne) Holbert, Tracy Holsinger, Douglas (Jeri) Holbert, Pamela (London) Russell all of Elkhart and Terri (David) Watson of Constantine, MI; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and a sister, Deanna Brown of Niles, MI, and his precious "Indigo", a black standard poodle. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Austin Miller, a niece, Debra Mohr, his brother-in-law, William Brown and his beloved "Maggie" a chocolate standard poodle. Thomas graduated in 1961 from Penn High School. He proudly served in the US Army, from Feb. 1961 to Jan. 1964 and was honorably discharged. He was life member of the Osceola American Legion Post #308 and a member of the NRA. Thomas enjoyed fishing, camping and riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Thomas worked as a welder for many years and in 1995 he retired from Wheelabrator. A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date, location and time are pending, where the US Army Honor Guard and the Osceola American Legion Color Guard will render full military honors. Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with his care. Memorial contributions may be given to the Union United Methodist Church, 141 Union Church Rd. Butler, GA 31006.
