SOUTH BEND- Robert Eugene Opaczewski, 66, of South Bend, passed away Saturday December 23, 2017 at his home. He was born April 29, 1951 in South Bend to Joseph & Donnabelle (Kryder) Opacewski. He married Rusty Johns. She preceded him in death. Surviving are 2 brothers, Richard Joseph Opaczewski of South Bend, John (Linda) Opaczewski of Clearwater, FL; 4 step children, Robert (Rose) Johns of Granger, IN, Ronald (Kari) Veldman of South Bend, IN, Victoria Smith of South Bend, Virginia (Phil) Waterson of LaPorte, IN and numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Robert was employed as a parts counter clerk for many years and loved automobiles. There will be no visitation or services and cremation will take place. Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with his care. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
