Leahoma Smith Obituary

Leahoma Mae Smith, 82, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday September 24, 2019 at the home of her daughter in Battle Creek, Michigan. She was born May 10, 1937 in Louisville, Kentucky to Menlo & Stella (Blanton) Holt. On December 1, 1956 she married Rolland L. Smith. He preceded her in death on December 28, 2005. Also preceding her in death were her parents. Surviving are 2 daughters, Rhonda Soto and her spouse Ralph Soto of Timpson, Texas and Diana Ladd and her spouse Paul Ladd of Battle creek, MI; 6 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Leahoma was employed at United Musical Instruments in Elkhart and retired in 2000. She enjoyed crocheting, doing yard work, watching soap operas, partying on Simonton Lake and spending time with her family and friends. Entombment will be held on Saturday September 28, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in Hope Mausoleum at Rice Cemetery. Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with her care.
