MISHAWAKA- Kathryn Jean Pingle, 83, of Mishawaka, passed away Wednesday July 3, 2019 at Miller's Merry Manor in Walkerton. She was born March 10, 1936 in Mishawaka to Oscar & Florence (Norton) Sellon. On March 10, 1954 in Roseland, Indiana she married Jack Donald Pingle and they recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. He survives along with 2 daughters, Kimberly (Timothy) Powers of Mishawaka, Laura (Jeffrey) Figg of North Liberty, IN and 2 grandchildren, Kathryn M. (John) Amos of Ft. Wayne, IN, Audrey A. (Jason) Taylor of Osceola, IN. Also surviving are 5 great-grandchildren, Emma Leigh Amos, Kyle M. Amos, Bridget A. Amos, Jack O. Taylor, Lorelei A. Taylor and 2 siblings, Dorotheann Wasio of North Liberty and Douglas O. Sellon of Port Angeles, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Virginia Russell and Betty June Blanford and a granddaughter, Jessica A. Powers. Kathryn graduated in 1954 from Mishawaka High School. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, reading and listening to music. She also loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren. In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place. A celebration of life service for Kathryn will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday July 13, 2019 at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Elkhart. Friends may visit with the family for 1 hour prior to the service. Pastor Keith McFarren from the Bethel United Methodist Church will preside and burial will be private at a later date at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with her care. Memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Hospice Care.
