Juan A. Castaneda

ELKHART-Juan A. Castaneda, Jr., 71, passed away December 11, 2017 at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born June 12, 1946 in Eagle Pass, Texas to Juan & Margarita (Amaya) Castaneda, Sr. On June 14, 1969 in Elkhart he married Judith L. Replogle; she survives along with 2 children; Christine (Jason) Rush, Laura (John) Kimmey, 2 grandchildren; Quinn Rush and Kinnsey Rush. Also surviving is 1 sister; Margarita Clements, 2 brother-in-laws; Charles (Linda) Replogle, David (Colleen) Replogle, and close friends; Larry Brown, Kenny Shoemaker, Mike Dunmire and Jack from Dunlap Auto Sales. . He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law; Patricia Hammes. Juan worked at CTS for 49 years until his retirement on October 20, 2017 and was a member of the U.A.W. local 941. He was a proud U. S. Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. In his spare time he enjoyed going to car shows and was even a part of a P.T. Cruiser Club. He was very patriotic and was friends with all whom met him. Memorial contributions may be given to the Elkhart D.A.V. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the 4 p.m. funeral service on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.
