Emilie "Jo" Shaver

Emilie "Jo" Shaver, 81, passed away October 16, 2017 at Miller's Merry Manor in Wakarusa. She was born July 30, 1936 in Elkhart to the late Louis & Margaret (Tomlinson) Heist. On October 9, 1953 in Elkhart she married Larry Shaver; he preceded her in death on October 21, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister, Suzanne Selvey and a step-brother, Jack Peterson. Surviving are five children, Lari (Jeff) Miller of New Paris, IN, Teri (Joe) Reed of Elkhart, Traci (Charles) Reed of Aurora, CO, Judi (James) Grafton of Littleton, CO, Stephani (Mike) Vouras of Dallas, TX; 9 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the 1 p.m. funeral services Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Pastor Mike Overpeck will preside and burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, bowling, ceramics, puzzles and crosswords. Her family was important to her and she touched many lives along the way. She was also well loved by family and friends and will be deeply missed.
