Eleanor June Moyer

Eleanor June Moyer, 95, of Elkhart, passed away Friday March 15, 2019. She was born November 28, 1923 in Elkhart to Edward & Ida (Livengood) Ivins. On June 22, 1947 in Elkhart she married John M. Moyer. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2009 in Elkhart. Surviving are 3 children, Randy (Karen) Moyer of Elkhart, Rick (Betsy) Moyer of Edwardsburg, MI, Cathy (Dan) Tilly of St. Joseph, MI; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and a sister, Patricia White of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 3 sisters and a brother. Eleanor was a member of Sigma Alpha Nu Sorority and a member of the Elkhart Elks Lodge #425. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, knitting, gardening and most of all mowing her lawn. Eleanor was an avid sports fan who loved Notre Dame and the Chicago Cubs. She worked at GTE as a phone operator, Buescher Band Instrument company and Latch-Gard Company in Elkhart. But most of all she was a wonderful homemaker. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday March 19, 2019 at the funeral home. Pastor Tim Fisher from Crossroads Community Church will preside and burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
