Dorothy M. Gebert

ELKHART- Dorothy M. Gebert, 90, of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday September 20, 2017 at her home. She was born July 30, 1927 in Stevens Pointe, WI to the late Steven & Florence (Pidd) Brantner. On April 11, 1945 she married Chet S. Gebert. He preceded her in death on August 3, 1979. Surviving are 2 children, Terry Ann (Ron) Walden of Elkhart, Gary S. (Feylin) Gebert of Winnetka, CA; 5 grandchildren, Wayne Owensby, Allen Owensby, Jayson Gebert, Kiara Gebert, Aprille Walden and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, David Gebert, a granddaughter, Montana, a sister, Betty and a brother, Dick. Dorothy was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, cooking, baking and working on cars. She also did plumbing and construction, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Dorothy retired from Markley Enterprises where she worked for over 30 years. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday September 28, 2017 at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. A vigil service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Additional visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday in the Vincent Hall at St. Vincent Church. The mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday September 29, 2017 at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. Fr. Zachary Barry will preside and burial will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery.
