Doris Ann Stutsman

Doris Ann Stutsman, 83, was called home on April 2, 2019. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 4 at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 5, followed by interment at Rice Cemetery. Doris was born in Mishawaka April 12, 1935 to Viola "Jigs" Walker (Johnson) and Melvin Detert. She married Roger Stutsman April 14, 1957 in Elkhart, where they raised a family and lived for almost 62 years. Doris' life revolved around her family, and she loved nothing more than spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and a step-father, Ralph Johnson, as well as her second child, David Maurice, who died at the age of 3-1/2 years. Her brother, Dennis Peffley, also preceded her in death. Doris is survived by her beloved husband, Roger; sons and daughters-in-law Steven and Carla Stutsman of Azle, Texas, and Doug and Lana Stutsman of Elkhart; daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Ray Butler of Milford, Michigan; grandchildren, Kevin, Wendy, Susan, Carl, David, Paige, Kyle, Nicole and Helen; step-grandchildren Alexia and ChelleBea; 13 great-grandchildren; sister Barbara Zeider, and a host of extended family and friends.
